Mokriste village, near Pazardzhik

Located 3 km from Pazardzhik in the charming village of Mokriste, away from major roads and close to a forest, our facility enjoys a peaceful atmosphere and clean air — the perfect environment for immersing oneself in learning.

  • Large lecture hall with sound system
  • Pre-operative room with triple sink
  • Large practical training room
  • Adjacent instrument storage room
  • Veranda and garden for relaxation

We provide all basic consumables with an examination and patient preparation table. You may also use our ultrasound device for non-invasive examinations and the inhalation anaesthesia unit, designed to familiarise veterinarians with the basics and advantages of endotracheal general anaesthesia.

Animal welfare

The VetAcademy team is against violence towards animals. Before, during and after practical sessions animals are allowed to display their physiological needs and normal behaviour, and are treated humanely. This is guaranteed by Dr. Evelina Rabadjiyska-Todorova, who completed a specialized course on the topic in Germany.

Accredited by BVA

All courses carry official CPD points

Certificate after every course

Recognised by BVA and international organisations

We want not only to sustain veterinary medicine in Bulgaria, but to make it flourish.

To achieve this, our center welcomes students and non-professionals who want to learn proper pet care and first aid. By spreading best practices, we hope to achieve our ultimate ideal — a better future for animals and people in Bulgaria.

Meet our team.

She graduated in 2008 from TiHo-Hannover, the only autonomous veterinary university in Germany.

During her 10-year career in German practices and clinics, she specialized in ultrasound diagnostic imaging and dental medicine under Dr. Fahrenkrug.

Her work for Eickemeyer enriched her with extensive experience and motivated a new beginning in Bulgaria.

In 2019, together with her husband Dr. Zdravko Todorov, she co-founded the first and only independent continuing education center for veterinary professionals in Bulgaria.

Nature conservation

"Love for all living creatures is the most noble quality of man." — Charles Darwin

VetAcademy is a place where I found the drive for veterinary development in Bulgaria and the desire to improve care for pets.

Since childhood I have dreamed of dedicating my life to helping animals. I have a strong interest in nature conservation, protection of endangered species and reducing the number of stray animals.

Tanya Sokolova

Team member

My name is Tanya, I am an accountant by profession. I believe life needs balance — for me that means working with numbers and documents as well as communicating with people and organizing events.

My role at VetAcademy is entirely focused on organizing practical workshops, which brings me great satisfaction seeing the results and the smiles of the participating doctors.

At VetAcademy we care for the present with an eye to the future.

For our shared dreams of progress and growth in companion animal practice, we know we must always remember a piece of the past, namely:

"Every vet was once a student."

We welcome veterinary students from both faculties with open doors, bringing them closer to the everyday work of our profession. They will work with us in the clinic tomorrow, arriving with the mindset of the young generation and bringing new momentum to the future. We count on them to be the heirs of our long-standing work, and they count on us as their support and second family in overcoming the challenges at the start of their career.

Cand. med. vet. Zhakline Ignatova

Born in Belgium but raised in Bulgaria. She has spent her whole life around animals, and perhaps that is exactly what sparked her passion for veterinary medicine. Her fire grew even stronger as she gained more practical experience and confirmed that this is truly her calling.

Cand. med. vet. Alexander Garev

Born in Plovdiv and a 3rd-year veterinary medicine student at Trakia University. He chose this field because it has been his dream since childhood and he wants to contribute as much as possible to society. In his free time he is involved in music and programming. Professionally, he wants to work with farm animals or in laboratory diagnostics.

Cand. med. vet. Nicholas Popkovachev

Nicholas is currently studying veterinary medicine at Trakia University in Stara Zagora. Although of Bulgarian origin, he spent his entire life in the USA and Canada. Returning to Bulgaria surprised many people, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions he has ever made. He believes that success comes with persistence and good motivation, and that opportunities exist everywhere — what matters is being able to find and use them in the best possible way.

Cand. med. vet. Andrea Flurenzu

Andrea Flurenzu, born and raised in Cyprus. She chose veterinary medicine because she did not want to work with people — though nobody told her that is a large part of the job. She quickly realized she would accept that fact in the name of her love and desire to help our four-legged friends. After all, someone has to help those who cannot help themselves.
